To buy the CD with a credit card, click the CD with a baby at the top or you can download mp3's from itunes through the link at the top left. Just a side note, there isn't a way to respond through the website, but we hear you loud and clear through myspace. We appreiciate all of the support you have given and we hope it keeps on coming with more of our exposure. There are tons of messages that we sift through daily. We read them all, but there is just not enough time in the day to respond to them all, so if you haven't gotten a response, we thank you and please keep supporting us and spreading the word about our music. We're making big ground behind the scenes even though we're not playing many shows, mostly until stewy gets better, but we're getting things together in other way like merch, new songs, advertising and hope to have a huge push by next spring. These things take time and alot of work, so if you have any ideas or suggestions, let us know or if you'd like to help spread the rock in your area, send us a message on myspace and we'll give you the information to do it on your own. Thanks 87 times! 11.4.08

He may need surgery in a few months, and doctors are saying everything should be OK. We may need to postpone a few shows, but everything else should stay right on schedule with our CD release. He should be home from the hospital early this week, so be looking for him around town again.4.2.08MODENA STICKERS AND T-SHIRTS ON THEIR WAY, CAN I GET A HELL YEAH!?3.23.08Tune your radio to WKNC 88.1 at 8:00 AM April 11 if you're in the triangle area of NC. Box 87 Modena, Italy.1.17.08Yes, that's right folks. Your eyes aren't playing tricks on you. You might have noticed we've added some acoustic gigs in Chapel Hill. We're trying to raise money for our upcoming EP, and what better way to do it by gigging??We'll be playing at a bunch of different bars and small clubs in and around the Chapel Hill and Raleigh area in the next couple of months. The acoustic act is slightly different than the full Modena lineup. It includes Justin on vocals/guitar/piano, Jaymz on vocals/guitar, and our good friend Robbie Dimauro helping us out on drums. And in case you're wondering, don't worry, Modena is still in the full swing of things. We'll be booking ALOT more shows with the full band lineup once our EP is completed and ready for release. P.S. If you are a band and would like to play with either Modena or the acoustic act PLEASE send us a message via myspace and we will set something up. We hope to see you guys out there!!! If you didn't get one we'll have more at our upcoming shows, but even though we lost the battle, it doesn't matter to us because you guys were there to rock out with us. Tell your friends, tell your enemies that Modena is your next favorite rock band!8.17.07Three out of four members of MoDenA have been playing their instrument longer than they've been having sex. We're off to Rock Hill South Carolina in two weeks if you're in the area stop by to check us out!6.9.07The Saturday gig at the Raven has been cancelled due to some management changes. It will be rescheduled very soon. Sorry for the inconvienence. We do have a show on Thursday in Chapel Hill which is only 30 minutes further than the raven to fill your Modena void in the mean time.5.30.07That was a close one. We almost had to cancel the last one at volume 11, but the drummer was able to make it after his wife had a baby at 7:00pm. Everything is fine with parents and baby and the rock was espectially tasty Friday night. Thanks to everyone who showed up for a great show. All the bands were the shit.5.24.07Well! If you didn't know, The Library in Chapel Hill is NOT for studying. Nothin' but wild crazy fun there and Modena was there to keep it going.Happy Birthday to Jennifer! We all sang Happy Birthday to her and she danced on stage for us too. Check us out again live in Raleigh at Volume 11 where we'll feature our newest song recently named "87." We all had a great time. Thanks to all the bands and thank you to Zack's for supporting local music.5.12.07OK, so gas is back up again. so what? pay it or do something about it. It needs to go up to four dollars a gallon so people freak out and start looking for other ways to get around. electric power for a car is perfect. instead of stopping to fuel up, you plug in while you sleep, simple as that. you still might need some kind of fuel for big trucks even small ones, but electric power is definately doable and has the potential to be cheap. the supply is infinate and doesn't require huge plants and complicated energy processing or transportation. all you need to do is wait for it to come to you and if the sun stops shining, ha, we've got bigger problems than how to get to a modena show and back. we'll be dead in a week with no sun. hah! maybe we should worship the sun, it's pretty important. eh' just a thought. and the technology for solar and wind power are out there, it's just waiting to be profitable. it'll be profitable when gas gets to 4 dollars.5.5.07Sandi's blood sugar is 87, regular octane is 87, Justin got his oil filter on Hwy 87, James lives off of Hwy 86, which ain't too far from 87, so that's not too bad, Stewy was born in 1987, Derek framed up an opening that was 87 inches, we tune our radio to 87.9 for itunes, it's gonna get to 87 degrees Wednesday. Dat 'Ol 87 is the number. It's everywhere you go! You got 87 and you got it'all, we might just write a song named 87.4.15.07You, The Dive Bar, Friday night, enough said.Listen to our new tunes on the myspace site for free! We'll get them up on the website as soon as they're fully mixed and mastered. 4.15.07MoDenA enjoyed some Tokyo Express while recording two songs this weekend at Last Chance Studios. The hibachi was good, but more importantly the two songs that were recorded sound amazing. One of the tracks is "Hit and Run," one that has never been recorded and could only be heard live. The other track is "Acquiescense," usually the first song of the set and also came out outstandingly rockishly well. You can here a live version from Rock Hill, SC on the website, but soon the recorded version will be on myspace and on the website.4.7.07Someone told me that while talking to a friend about electricity, he asked him how to go from amps to volts and volts to amps. His friend told him that it was about the same thing, but he thinks it's a 1 for 2 conversion etc. I told him they have nothing to do with each other and he insisted on saying that you use amps to get volts and use volts to get amps. Oh so now it makes sense. I just gave up and told him that it was sort of related. Kinda like leaves. And ice cream. They're related. The leaves fall, fertilize the grass, the cows eat the grass, the cows make milk to make the ice cream, and so they related. I guess you could say everything's related. So he must be right! In other news, MoDenA is featured on In Tune Publications, an online entertainment magazine. Check us out here. 3.27.07Well, The Cave is, a cave! A cool cave. And MoDenA caved it up along with Grey Market(from Tampa[who has lots of talent even without solos]) and Hammer No More The Fingers.3.25.07Man! You guys were choice Friday night. Thank you to Driving Force, Playing Jo Jo, My Captain, Up Side of Down, and all of the fans. Great night! If you didn't get a demo, you can get them at every show, and if you like us, tell a friend, hell, BRING a friend. The Berkelely Cafe was our first show 6 months ago so it's kind of our home base and it was great to play there again. 3.19.07Who wants to see Chris Daughtry for free when you can see MoDenA for a couple of bucks this friday at The Berkeley Cafe? Come see your real American Idols. Hey, and stop by during the week for lunch and get some of their tasty specials!3.04.07We are currently being rotated on 96 rock's locals only show from 10-11pm. We enjoyed it too and would love to come back and do it again. You were all awesome. Check back here for more shows in Raleigh, and tell your friends about how MoDenA rocked your world! Thanks again!1.12.07Damn great show guys! Praetorius, Last Rights, Good Samaritan and Modena, a four band rock block worth every dollar at the brewery.1.2.07During the holidays, Derek visited his roots in Louisiana. He says he had a great time poling the pirougue and eating jambalaya with his family. The Lafourche Bayou was at capacity due to recent heavy rains, but that made the gator wrestling even better. Cajun's don't eat turkey for Christmas, they eat gator! Anyway on to band news, you have three chances to see us next week in Raleigh, so we don't want to hear any complaining with, "y'all never play anywhere..." just come see us and have a good time. The case was about a home inspector being sued because he didn't tell them that there was a problem with a leaky roof. The plantiff was crying because she lost the case next to her husband dressed in a purple suit who said, "The Man didn't do what he know he had suppost had did."10.14.06HAPPY BIRTHDAY JAMES!! 30 people, a keg, one apartment. yeah......10.7.06Justin gets a new stool, Stewy is refound, James gets casters for his amp and Derek gets a new truck to haul all of our shit around town for your listening pleasure. We'll see you there!09.16.06Possibly the weirdest sentence in the English language is: “Buffalo buffalo Buffalo buffalo buffalo buffalo Buffalo buffalo”.It takes a bit to understand this, so let’s build up from simple stuff. First, suppose that dogs chase cats, who then chase mice. Another way of saying this is: “Cats that dogs chase, chase mice” But the comma and the word “that” aren’t technically needed, so we can say: “Cats dogs chase chase mice”. But cats also chase other cats, so we could say: “Cats dogs chase chase cats”. And they can be chased by other cats too: “Cats cats chase chase cats”. Step back and look at this sentence for a moment. This is the basic structure of the buffalo sentence. Let’s think about buffalo chasing other buffalo: “Buffalo buffalo chase chase buffalo”. Now there’s a lesser-known English verb “to buffalo” meaning “to push around”. So instead of chasing, let’s make these buffalo push each other around: “Buffalo buffalo buffalo buffalo buffalo”. Remember that this means: “Buffalo that buffalo push around, push buffalo around”. For the final step, let’s just talk about a particular kind of buffalo - the kind that live in the zoo in Buffalo, New York. These, of course, are Buffalo buffalo - just as the lions are Buffalo lions. “Buffalo buffalo that Buffalo Buffalo push around, push Buffalo buffalo around” or more properly: “Buffalo buffalo Buffalo buffalo buffalo buffalo Buffalo buffalo”. For extra credit, here’s a sentence with “and” five times together: “When you drew that Fish-And-Chips sign, you should have put a hyphen between Fish and And and And and Chips”. 09.11.06Thanks to all that came to The Money and voted for us! We've got new music from the show on the music page and on myspace.09.03.06Welcome to the new website. Check here for the latest news. | |||||||||||||||
